Info [in english]: Brexit stands out as one of the most consequential decisions in the long and diverse history of EU referendums across Europe. With the day of the UK’s exit from the EU approaching, it is time to discuss the motives, dynamics and outcomes of such referendums on Europe. Leading scholars and young academics from across Europe present their work at a workshop in Hildesheim, Germany. The roundtable discussion “Referendums on Europe – cure or disease?” is part of the international workshop “Referendums on Europe – Motives, Dynamics, Outcomes” at the University of Hildesheim on 28/29 March 2019. The workshop is organised by Wolf J. Schünemann (University of Hildesheim) and Kai Oppermann (TU Chemnitz).

Participants of the roundtable discussion are Barbara Lippert (Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik, Berlin, Germany), Peter-Christian Müller-Graff (Heidelberg University, Germany), Michael Gehler (University of Hildesheim) and Andrew Glencross (Aston University, United Kingdom).
