Biography

Saliba B. James, from Gombe state Nigeria. He attended:  S.I. M. Demonstration Primary School and graduated in 1971, Government Secondary School; Kaltungo, and graduated 1977; University of Maiduguri B. A. History 1982; University of Maiduguri, M. A. History, 1987; University of the Philippines, Diliman Campus, Manila, Ph. D, Philippine History, 1995.
He was employed by the University of Maiduguri as a Graduate Assistant in 1984. He became a Professor in of Asian Studies in 2007. His research interests and publications are in Philippine Studies, Tangale History and Boko Haram Insurgency. Has published widely in reputable Journals.
He has held administrative positions including:
Head of Department, Department of History University of Maiduguri, 2014- 2019
SubDean, Faculty of Arts, University of Maiduguri, 2010- 2013
Director, Archives and Records Management Unit, University of Maiduguri, 2015- 2020
Director, Center for the Study and Promotion of Cultural Sustainability CSPCS, 2020 to date.
