Master's program Future Analytics: AI & Audio Worlds
APPLICATION INFORMATION
The application platform for international students will be announced shortly.
What does the future sound like—and how can it be shaped with artificial intelligence?
The international transdisciplinary master’s program Future Analytics: AI & Audio Worlds is a consecutive university program designed for bachelor’s degree holders in anthropology, sound studies, music and cultural studies, as well as computer science, data science, and AI. It combines studies in music, musicology, sociology, and audio culture with computer science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence in a specialized, research-oriented approach. The focus is on how auditory cultures are changing in interaction with new technologies—and how these developments can be responsibly shaped.
The goal is to analyze the tensions between human and non-human actors and to find interdisciplinary answers to the challenges of our time.
Program Content
In this English-language program, students deepen their specialized knowledge in audio science, music, computer science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, and develop the skills to analyze complex social and technological issues and reflect on them from a theoretically grounded perspective. In addition to technical expertise, they acquire a wide range of skills—including orientation, design, and judgment—in addressing open, socially relevant questions about the future; they work with scientific theories, models, and methods from various disciplines; and they combine analytical work, research-oriented project work, and creative practice.
A central element of the program is transdisciplinary research projects in small, partly practice-oriented teams, in which students develop their own research questions at the intersection of AI and Audio Worlds. In doing so, they combine research, analysis, and design—ranging from scenarios to prototypical audio applications.
