3. Format of the workshop

The workshop is organized into three sections. Each one will be introduced by an overview statement of 10 to 15 minutes, summarizing main theoretical viewpoints from the literature, the technical state of the art, or needs of different types of users and/or applications. These statements will be prepared by the hosts.

One of the main objectives of the workshop is to provide a forum for interdisciplinary discussion (terminology, translation science, computational linguistics); each presentation is allowed 20 to 25 minutes, to be followed by 10 to 15 minutes of detailed discussion. At the end of each of the three sections of the workshop, a panel of discussants from the other sections will react to and comment on the talks presented in the section, ask more general questions to the presenters and thereby lead into the discussion of the whole group. These discussions will be minuted by the hosts, and the minutes will be distributed along with the transparencies after the workshop.

The workshop will take place at Universität Hildesheim, Bühler-Campus; the necessary infrastructure is available.

The programme has been compiled on the basis of the tentative titles provided by the participants. It is attached.
