Dear colleagues,

We invite you to participate in the International Conference “Development of Children-and-Adults Communities in Regards to Diversity”, which will take place at the Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University within the framework of the XI Week of International Cooperation on April, 24-25, 2017.

The world becomes diverse, and different countries face the process of continuous expansion of cultural, ethnic, religious, intellectual, social diversity, it becomes evident in the system of education as well. Diversity contains both significant potential for development of educational systems and the risks and dangers associated with weak ability to control the process. Due to the development of different types of diversity in the educational systems of the world, there appears an issue of unpreparedness of administrators of educational institutions, teachers, students and their parents to act in the conditions of social and cultural diversity.

Local communities uniting children and adults of different age groups become more and more diverse in structure and contents of activities. In this context, it is necessary to find the ways of creating the dialogue between different generations within the local community. Such dialogue is taking place against the background of contradicting tendencies of generation gap and merge and the changes in the socio-psychological characteristics of diverse age groups. Today, the generation gap takes on new contours. In many respects, it is related to prefigurative culture, when the younger generation acquires social experience more rapidly and transfers it not only to its peers, but also to representatives of the senior generation. The senior generation, in its turn, aims to be an equal partner in the children-and-adults communities by mastering new information technologies.
