Prof. Dr. Andreas Hetzel is a distinguished professor of philosophy at the Philosophy Institute of Hildesheim University with a research focus on social philosophy (theories of power, pathologies of the social), the philosophy and theory of culture (culture as practice), political philosophy (democratization processes and their possible deficits), ethics (concepts of rule-following, normativity beyond norms, alterity and recognition, environmental ethics), philosophical aesthetics (philosophy and literature, poetics and aesthetics), modern philosophy (German idealism, pragmatism, critical theory, recent French-language philosophy), and the philosophy of language (pragmatics, rhetoric).
