In 2013 and 2015 the UNESCO Chair organized two research workshops attended by between 15 and 30 experts. The workshop in Cape Town looked at the connection between arts education and theater using the example of South Africa, while in Zanzibar the focus was on music in East African countries. The findings will be used by an international conference - entitled "Cultural Policy and Arts Education. A first African-European Exchange" - to be held at the Bundesakademie für kulturelle Bildung Wolfenbüttel on February 1 und 2, 2018 and a subsequent publication.
