Internationalisation

An important topic at Hildesheim University is internationalisation. In addition to research activities, administration and management, the focus here is on the internationalisation of studies and teaching. Specifically, this involves the following aspects:

  • Increasing the mobility of Hildesheim students
  • Internationalisation of teacher training
  • Expansion of international teaching.

This is where the project 'TRANSLANG - Translanguaging in international teacher training' comes into play: we do not only want to increase the number of outgoings among teacher training students, but our aim is also to increase the number of international students (incomings) coming to Hildesheim.

In addition, we plan transnational workshops with international academics. Some lectures and seminars in the M.Ed. programme will be opened up for more exchange, too. The international project TRANSLANG started last winter semester (21/22). In that class, Hildesheim students deal with the topic of (migration-related) multilingualism and translanguaging and exchange ideas with students from the cooperating universities.

Prof. Montanari and Dr. Vernal Schmidt have already been able to gain valuable experience in the project 'ForM - Research Methods on Multilingualism' in the context of joint (digital) seminar sessions with lecturers and students from Ain Shams University in Cairo.
