Ain Shams University
About the university

Ain Shams University was founded as the third Egyptian university in July 1950 under the name of "Ibrahim Pasha University". Together with the two previous universities, "Cairo University" (Fua'd the 1st) and "Alexandria University" (Farouk the 1st), it contributed to fulfilling the mission of universities and meeting the growing demand of youth for higher education. At its foundation, Ain Shams University included a number of prestigious faculties and academic institutes, which were later expanded into a university.
The TRANSLANG project cooperates with the Faculty of Education at Ain Shams University, especially with the Center of Excellence for Studies and Research in German and Arabic as a Foreign Language (EZ-DAAF) and the German Department.
Both the Center of Excellence and the German Department are centrally located on the green campus of the Faculty of Education of Ain Shams University in the Heliopolis district.
