In the Match’In-project, the universities Hildesheim and Erlangen-Nuremberg pursue the goal of improving the distribution fugitives among the municipalities. In addition to the existing quotas, the needs of those seeking protection and existing structures in the municipalities should also be taken into account when assigning them to different locations. For this purpose, an algorithm-supported matching process was developed together with practice partners and piloted in four federal states in 2024. The NDR reported on the implementation in Lower Saxony on November 29th, 2024 on TV in “Hello Lower Saxony”.
