eduVPN-Wireguard on Windows devices using the Wireguard client

This method of VPN connection is especially recommended if you are about to leave for a trip abroad and have not yet configured a VPN connection.

Note: When the VPN connection is active, local data traffic in your network is blocked. You will then not be able to use your network printer, for example.

1. Download and install the Wireguard client.

2. Open a browser tab and go to the login page of our eduVPN portal. Log in here with your UNI account and the corresponding password.

3. Click on "Manual Configuration" at the bottom left, enter a name such as 'Uni-VPN' in the "Name" field and click on "Download".

4. Now select the entire text block in the gray box and copy the text to the clipboard (right-click - Copy).

5. Back to the Wireguard client: Click on "Add tunnel" in the lower left corner, then on "Add an empty tunnel...".

6. Delete the lines that already exist here, paste the text block you copied earlier (right-click - paste), assign a name for the connection at the top, and then click "Save".

7. The VPN connection can now be started by clicking on the "Activate" button.
