Donors who support projects of Friend- & Fundraising with larger donations and personal commitment or even take the initiative themselves are a real treasure for a foundation university like ours here in Hildesheim. They make projects possible from which disadvantaged students benefit, they help those who are about to graduate to their career starts, network between the regional economy and the university or finally get long-planned projects off the ground.

By awarding Deutschlandstipendien, particularly high-achieving and committed students are supported in achieving their study goals. In recent years, we have been able to steadily increase the number of Deutschlandstipendien thanks to the numerous sponsors, reaching a record number of 95 scholarships in the 2018/2019 scholarship cycle!
This is possible thanks to the commitment of people like you, who have and seize the opportunity to support a scholarship holder financially and personally for a year, inspiring them to achieve new heights in their education and research. Both companies and private individuals appreciate the contact with young research talents and both sides often develop a valued long-term collaboration and bond that goes far beyond the scholarship year.
With 150 euros a month, which the state of Lower Saxony tops up to 300 euros for your scholarship holder, you can kick-start the academic career of a student who performs outstandingly in their subject but has to overcome disadvantages due to their educational background, family background or language barrier. You help to alleviate these students' concerns and offer them the equally valuable treasure of your experience, contacts and networks.
The non-profit University Society unites friends, alumni, supporters and members of the University of Hildesheim. For 40 years now, it has been providing financial support for projects run by students, departments, institutes and the university. You too have benefited from the University Society during your studies, as it supports conferences, festivals, project work, research and construction projects every year! General meetings give you the opportunity to participate in the selection of projects to be supported, and many events that are of particular interest to alumni are organized by the University Society itself.
If you are looking for an opportunity to give something back to your university, to help shape and decide, then a membership of the University Society is the right thing for you!
