Dr. Markus Gelhoet has been appointed Vice President for Human Resources and Finance at the University of Hildesheim

Effective April 1, Dr. Markus Gelhoet will assume the position of Full-Time Vice President for Human Resources and Financial Administration at the University of Hildesheim. His term will initially last for six years.
Gelhoet’s responsibilities include overseeing the university’s central administration, managing budget and financial planning, and serving as the president’s permanent representative in legal and administrative matters. He follows Dr. Matthias Kreysing, who moved to the University of Konstanz on December 1, 2025.
On the occasion of his start in Hildesheim, Gelhoet said: “Exciting, challenging tasks lie ahead of us; some things are new, some are different, but that’s exactly how it should be. I’m looking forward to getting started.”

Dr. Markus Gelhoet holds a doctorate in business administration and spent approximately 15 years in various administrative and leadership positions at Georg August University of Göttingen, most recently serving as Head of the Finance and Controlling Department since 2017. In that role, he was responsible for the budget, the annual financial statements, and the management of third-party and special funds, among other duties.
