Erasmus+ gives students the opportunity to study in another European country and expand their social and cultural skills.
In the process, they get to know the academic system of a foreign university and benefit from its teaching and learning methods. After completing their first year of study, students can receive funding for a study period of between three and twelve months at a foreign host university, up to and including their doctorate.

Semester abroad at one of our European partner universities.
Students going abroad with Erasmus+ should take a language test in Online Language Support (OLS) before and after their stay abroad. Through Online Language Support, you can improve your knowledge of the language in which you are studying or doing your internship abroad over a three-year period - before, during and after your stay.
You will need to upload the documents required for documentation to the EU (grant agreement, learning agreement, confirmation of receipt and stay...) in the workflow and fill in an experience report in the EU portal.
The duration of the study abroad can vary between 3 and 9 months depending on the study program and partner university. However, you generally apply for one semester first, usually for the winter semester, and can then extend your stay there if the partner university agrees.
The ERASMUS+ program does not charge tuition fees; in addition, students receive a scholarship, the amount of which depends on the destination country. The financial support for Erasmus+ stays of students is based on the different costs of living in the destination countries ("program countries"). For the project year 2022, the following funding rates apply for the three study visit country groups (SMS):
In the new generation of Erasmus programs, one of the goals is to provide special support to students with "fewer opportunities".
Students who are accompanied by their children, who are chronically ill or have a disability, who are "first-time graduates" or who employed (earning 450 € to 850 € per month) have the possibility to apply for a Top Up in the amount of 250 € / month. A corresponding query will be made during the application process.
In addition, you can also apply for BAföG abroad at the BAföG office responsible for the host country.
If you have any further questions, please contact Ms. Puhrsch or Ms. Mühlhausen-Lotze.
15th of January for the following winter semester
15th of June for the following summer semester
Please note: Applying for the winter semester is usually more favorable, since the summer semester periods in many countries (especially Scandinavia and France) do not correspond to our periods and, for example, already begin in January.
For the summer semester, only the places left over from the application round for the winter semester are distributed, so there are significantly fewer places and no longer available in all partner universities.
The application is made online.
