Scholarship meeting 2022

Scholarship meeting of the University of Hildesheim 2022

Due to the pandemic this year’s scholarship ceremony was held online, that is how the idea for a scholarship meeting originated. This event offered scholars and donors to get to know each other in person and connect. Besides cultural performances the interactions and discussions were in focus. .

The scholarship meeting for study period 2021/22 took place 16th of May 2022 and was dedicated to scholars of all three scholarship programmes, Deutschlandstipendium, Minerva-Kolleg and Lore-Auerbach-scholarship. About 130 scholars and donors met at the main campus of the University of Hildesheim. Certificates that could not be handed beforehand during the online ceremony, were given to all scholars and donors retrospectively during the event.

In the beginning Prof. Dr. Martin Schreiner, vice president for foundation development, transfer and cooperation of the University of Hildesheim thanked each guest for their attendance. He emphasized the importance of in-person meetings due to live interactions, inspiring and learning from each other. Ensuing, Markus F. Langer, head of Friend & Fundraising greeted attendees and explained the programme of the evening.

In different seminar rooms donors chatted with their scholars. For musical entertainment, the band No Mind, who is founded by (former) students Maria Burkart and Leo Siebert, set the mood. Furthermore, delicious food was offered by regional and seasonal catering Adlers Foodtruck. As singing tomato “Bloody Mary”, Elisa Salamanca amused the audience with her walk act and funny songs on the ukulele while dropping interesting facts about the life of a fruit.

Until late in the night, guests sat and ate together while chatting and enjoying the summer night. This event evokes the wish and hope that the scholarship meeting 2023 will be in presence once again.
