Knowledge Transfer & Partnerships
Application-oriented research and practice-based cooperation are highly valued at the University of Hildesheim. In areas such as education, the cultural sector, computer science and information science, psychological assessment and prevention, child and youth protection, migration policy, and others, the university contributes—through the provision of academic expertise—to addressing socially relevant challenges, strengthening the regional economy, and improving political decision-making processes.
This takes place through collaborative research projects with non-academic partners, through consulting activities, practice-integrated phases of training and education, service-learning formats, and through provision in the field of science communication and exchange with civil society. In addition, in recent years the university has established an in-house start-up support service, KET - the Competence Centre for Entrepreneurship and Transfer - , which supports members of the University of Hildesheim with questions related to starting business and social enterprises.
