The Information Management and Information Technology (IMIT) degree program, which is only available at the University of Hildesheim, places a stronger focus on information management in addition to IT and includes information science. Media Informatics is a variant of the Applied Computer Science degree program. Media Informatics at the University of Hildesheim combines two future-oriented fields, computer science and digital media, which have long permeated all areas of life and have become an integral part of our professional and private lives. As part of the Applied Computer Science degree program, Media Informatics at the University of Hildesheim offers a special focus. During the course of studies, students not only acquire fundamental knowledge of classic applied computer science, but also specialize in digital media technologies.

In Business Informatics, you will deal explicitly with topics from business informatics “in the narrower sense”, especially the architecture and development of information systems in companies. Applications such as e-commerce, business intelligence and data management play a particularly important role.

Today, large amounts of geographical environmental data are available, often freely accessible and unused. This raw data must be understood and meaningfully evaluated in order to understand complex interactions between humans and environment. This is where the Environmental Informatics study program comes in as an interface between digital geodata and the complex challenges of the human-environment relationship.

Im Studienprogramm Umweltsicherung (eine Studienvariante des polyvalenten 2-Fächer-Bachelorstudiengangs B.Sc.) wird von den Instituten für Biologie und Geographie getragen, denn Umweltsicherung ist eine Querschnittsaufgabe, die unterschiedliche Fachdisziplinen berührt.
