Demographic transition brings not only general changes to society and the economy, but significant an far-reading challenges for business and employees. Concern managements are expected to prove themselves innovative and able competitors in the face of an aging an increasingly heterogen workforce. Generating and maintaining knowledge of a workforce of differing ages resulting in a long-term source of potential will be a crucial factor in management behavior. A promising, still under-utilized solution-based approach can be detected in the competence-oriented adaptation of the organization of tasks in companies, into learning- and health-promoting workplaces as well as into those business cultures encouraging innovation. The research project InDeKo.Navi, sponsored by the federal ministry of education and research is utilizing an integration of these differing perspectives of demographic competence in the form of a model called the InDeKo.Modell. As a meta project it is connecting for the first time reliable concepts of service-oriented networking activities with its own future-oriented scientific contribution of the concomitant research.
