About Us

The department of Business Administration and Operations Research at the University of Hildesheim deals with topics in quantitative business administration. The focus is on operations research methods, which are used to systematically analyze, model, and optimize complex operational decision-making problems.

Many business situations are characterized by a multitude of possible decision alternatives. The aim of our work is to structure these alternatives, quantify their effects, and determine the best possible decision based on well-defined quality criteria. Typical objective functions include, for example, minimum costs, maximum profit, or minimum processing time.

Operations research methods are used in numerous areas, including logistics, production, marketing, project scheduling, and supply chain management.
