The "Hildesheim vor Ort" format serves to bring students and Hildesheim-based cultural professionals into dialogue with one another. To this end, the seminars offered by the Institute for Cultural Policy seek out points of connection to specific Hildesheim topics, which are then discussed and explored further in a cultural policy salon. In 2021, for example, we reflected on gaps and spaces in cultural policy and cultural practice in Hildesheim at "Hildesheim vor Ort. Mind the Gap," we reflected on gaps and spaces in cultural policy and cultural practice in Hildesheim. In 2023, we took a concrete look at the three major projects "Hildesheimer Wallungen," "Rosen & Rüben," and "hört!hört!," and in 2024, we collaborated with the Kompetenzwerkstatt für Entrepreneurship und Transfer (Competence Workshop for Entrepreneurship and Transfer).

The format will take place again in the winter semester of 2025/26—this time with a focus on the connections between culture, artistic practice, and urban development processes: On Thursday, February 5, 2026, we will welcome Julia Gebhardt, a young local cultural politician (Committee for Culture and Demography, City of Hildesheim), and Siggi Stern, a networker in the independent cultural scene (IQ - Interessengemeinschaft Kultur Hildesheim e.V.). Anyone interested is welcome to come to the Hohe Haus, Room 402, from 2:15 to 3:45 p.m. on the Culture Campus. The hosts are Dr. Daniel Gad and the students of the seminar of the same name.
In addition to insights into the experiences of a young cultural politician and the significance and needs of the independent cultural scene for urban development, we will also deal with the Chemnitz Appeal. 

Of course, the focus will always be on the question of what insights we can draw on for cooperation between the university and practice in the (near) future.
