Internationality in teaching is one of the main concerns of the UNESCO Chair. In order to be able to meet the current challenges and processes of change in the cultural and artistic landscapes, international cooperation in research and teaching and thus the imparting of important skills play a crucial role at the Institute and the University at whole.

By strengthening the international component, we aim to establish the Kulturcampus as an attractive place of learning for international and internationally interested students and ensure it remains so in the future.

The Covid-19 pandemic and its consequences have also highlighted the importance of such a focus on internationality. With this in mind, the UNESCO Chair seeks to strengthen existing structures while providing fresh ideas and impetus, for example on topics such as decolonization, cultural diversity, democratic cooperation, artistic freedom and sustainability. Two study programmes that extend the regular study programmeconcepts of the Kulturcampus to include an international dimension are leading the way in this respect.
