The research project dealt with the question of how gender roles are negotiated and aesthetically produced or (de)constructed in current theater pedagogical works. In doing so, (gender) identity concepts within the aesthetic practice of different theater pedagogical works and concepts were to be examined and the category gender was to be made productive for the analysis of aesthetic practice. The concept of Doing Gender became the guiding principle of the research in two respects: in the reception-aesthetic investigation of selected production examples as well as in the analysis of concrete (institutional) production contexts of different theater-pedagogical works.
