The corona pandemic has made life particularly difficult for families in India. Almost every family has suffered a death. Public life is extremely restricted, structures have largely come to a standstill. There is a lack of everything: food, medicine, social contacts. As a result, many people have lost their jobs - including musicians.
Dr. Lalitha Muthuswamy and the CWM have launched a donation initiative. The money will be used to cover the basic needs of families in Chennai - with 70€ alone, a family of four can usually survive for three months. The violinist Lalitha Muthuswamy is a long-time colleague at CWM and cooperation partner for the distribution of aid on site. She has been supporting several families since the beginning of the pandemic. She has now built up a network of supporters and people in need and is organising the distribution of basic food and medical supplies. She is currently in contact with over 50 families who are in urgent need of help.
