Association

The non-profit association Center for World Music e.V. was founded in March 2021. It is behind the organisation and implementation of music mediation offers of the Community Service / Third Mission department at the CWM what promotes the relationship between the university and the public. Its purpose is to make the four areas of research, teaching, archives and community service at the CWM effective for social cohesion through its own activities.
The association connects associates of the CWM from research, teaching, cultural education and musical practice with cultural and educational institutions in the Hildesheim region. In this way, a network of local, regional and international cultural practitioners is established and maintained, providing infrastructures for a lively cultural education. The projects focus on cultural participation, the promotion of inter- and transcultural forms of musical expression, tolerance, exchange and understanding.

The Friends of the Center for World Music e.V. warmly welcomes interested people who identify with the tasks and goals of the association and would like to work with or support it!

The membership fees, which are based on a solidarity principle, range from a small social contribution to a sponsorship fee. If you have any further questions or would like to apply for membership, please contact kundolfk@uni-hildesheim.de.
