HilReDa: The University of Hildesheim's Research Data Repository
HilReDa has been the University of Hildesheim’s own research data repository since May 2020. Members of the University of Hildesheim can publish their research results there in the form of research data. This ensures that the data is permanently preserved and made publicly available as open access in a sustainable and high-quality manner. Upon publication, the research data receive a persistent identifier (a DOI) and can be cited unambiguously. Sensitive research data can be published with restricted access.
You can log in to HilReDa using your UNI account via Academic Cloud. Please contact us by email for assistance. We will help you upload your research data.

HilReDa is hosted by the GWDG in Göttingen, which handles data security and protection, backups, access control, as well as availability and reliability. Technically, HilReDa is based on the open-source software Dataverse Project from Harvard University.

Other venues for publishing research data
In addition to HilReDa, there are other subject-specific research data repositories. An overview is available at re3data.org. Research data can also be published in research data centers (FDZ), in data journals (Data Papers), or as data supplements. Please contact us; together we will find a suitable publication venue.

Publishing Audio and Video Files
Research data in audio or video format can be published in most research data repositories, such as HilReDa. Through the TIB AV Portal, the Technical Information Library offers an open access platform specifically for scientific audio and video files, which can be cited via DOIs just like traditional text publications.
For publication, it is recommended to use open data formats whenever possible. Additionally, check in advance whether video files can also be published as compressed versions.
