School Construction in Hobor – A Cooperation between “Zusammen für Ghana e.V.” and “Kinder Zentrum International”

In 2020, we founded the association “Zusammen für Ghana e.V.”, which consists mainly of young students. Together with our partner association in Ghana “Kinder Zentrum International” our goal is to build a school near the village of Hobor (Ghana) for about 200 children and to maintain it. The school will initially have three classrooms. As soon as we have the financial means, we would like to equip the school with sanitary facilities as well as clean water and provide the children with a hot lunch. We also want to arrange sponsorships for the children. We are in almost daily contact with Antonio Freeman, the chairman of our Ghanaian partner association, whom I (Hannah Janßen) got to know during my voluntary service in Ghana. His wish was to provide schooling for more children and I decided to support him: the idea of a joint project was born. He himself is a German and French teacher and will be our school director, at the moment he is in charge of the construction on site. Both associations work on a voluntary basis, therefore every donation is used exclusively for services of our project in Hobor. So now we are working together to make schooling possible, because education can give children the opportunity for a self-determined life.
