Project description

Let’s trash the trash

In June 2025, a waste collection campaign was organized by ESN Hildesheim members Nisha and Jasmin. The action started at Tonkhule Lake and extended to the surrounding forest, including the Blauer Kamp and the nearby parking lot. The campaign lasted around 3.5 hours, during which the volunteers actively helped to clear the environment of garbage.
The generous support of local organizations made this campaign possible. The gloves were lent by the Hildesheim Parks Department, while the grabbing tongs were provided by Klemmbutze. In addition, grabbers and garbage bags were provided by the Hildesheim municipal building yard.

The event was a great success. Many student initiatives helped to spread the word about the campaign and numerous members of the public expressed their appreciation for our efforts. Not only were we able to make a tangible positive impact on the local environment through this campaign, but we were also able to raise awareness and encourage greater community involvement.
