Project description

Winter wonder

All children are happy to receive gifts and should have the chance to tear open colorful paper with joyful eyes in anticipation of a gift just for them! But often this option is not available. The Winter Miracle project is designed to help make the world a little more cheerful for the littlest of us. Winter miracle is about giving gifts to children for the holidays. The focus is primarily on refugees and children from resource-poor families in Hildesheim and the surrounding area. The campaign accepts both in-kind and monetary donations and distributes them to children in the form of colorfully wrapped gifts starting on December 10 (International Human Rights Day). The Winter Wonder is non-religious, emphasizes sustainable giving, and is really fun! But it’s not just about the act of giving itself, it’s also about raising awareness of sociopolitical structures. Therefore, flyers on topics that are important in volunteer work, such as addictions, trauma, discrimination based on gender, origin, etc., are created in teamwork. A guide on how to give sustainable gifts is also being developed. In the handover we cooperated with Ponto, Asyl e.V., Flux Hildesheim, the yellow workshop and the women’s shelter Hildesheim to be able to reach as many children and young people as possible. The project is aimed at the joy of the recipient as well as the recipient!
