Project description
“La Côte bleue – The blue coast”
a place in Marseille that, with its clear, blue water, offers a moment of stillness and allows the everyday to flow into the distance. Inspired by this, Milena Knop created this mediation format, which invited visitors to reflect, stroll and linger and explored the theme of water as an in-between place. What do you need right now? Do you want to write down your thoughts, make collages, just listen to music, jam a little on the keyboard yourself or let yourself be sprinkled in the room – either with others or on your own? Let go or let out what’s on your mind or simply put everything aside for a brief moment.
“seaside stories” is an analog photo series by Damaris Beygang, taken during walks along the Mediterranean coast of Marseille. It shows observed stories, interactions and quiet moments of people in public places between the city and the sea. Places where different people meet and their stories slowly connect and interweave. Walk with me along the Corniche, climb over the rocks of Malmousque, let yourself fall into sparkling water and listen to the music of your beach towel neighbors via QR codes. Arrive at the Côte Bleue, where you can look out over the coast from the other side.
The aim of the project was to connect two spaces, two formats and to complement and support each other in a fluid transition. “La Côte Bleue” and “seaside stories” took place as part of State of the Art 16.
