Team Bicycle Riders (ATTUNE)
As part of the ‘Bicycle Riders’ research team’s project on the topic of mobility, a comprehensive study and a measure were carried out. The aim was to investigate the cycling behaviour of students at the University of Hildesheim and to promote the use of bicycles. First study: A survey was carried out at to record the needs of commuters. The results showed that students were generally interested in using their bikes to. A key concern was to offer free repair facilities in order to make bike use more attractive. Second study measure: At the campus festival, a ‘wish box’ was set up in which the students could enter their wishes and needs regarding the use of bicycles. These results were made available to the student-run bicycle workshop ‘Fazze’ and neighbouring bicycle shops, such as the Ritzel bicycle workshop. The latter
had provided three vouchers worth €25 each as part of the first study. Background: The interest in this project arose from previous work on the topic of mobility at. In this context, also hosted a radio programme on Radio Tonkuhle in Hildesheim. The project aimed to increase the use of bicycles and thus achieve a positive environmental impact at by taking into account the specific needs of students and offering practical solutions.
