The ARJ ACADEMY is a one-week training and discourse format organized by the ARTS RIGHTS JUSTICE program at the University of Hildesheim (Germany). The ARJ ACADEMY invites 30 young professionals to join a group of international experts in the field for a programme of workshops, discussions, teamwork, presentations and individual consultancy. All participants in the ARJ ACADEMY will be practitioners in cultural policy-related work, arts or cultural management practice, free expression advocacy, human rights defense or related areas.
We are committed to bringing together participants from as wide a range of world regions as possible to create a peer-to-peer learning ambiance based on dialogue, learning and exchange.
In 2017, the ARJ ACADEMY received 185 applications from 50 countries of all world regions and hosted 30 selected participants from August 24 until 31, 2017 followed by the ARJ Forum in Berlin. The second edition of the ARJ ACADEMY & FORUM will take place from September 1- September 8, 2018.
Please note, that in 2019, the ARJ programme is putting a lot of emphasis on research and publications. On May 21st, the ARJ LIBRARY will be launched including the first three studies conducted in the fields of arts, rights, justice. Together with CoCulture e. V., the ARJ programme organizes the event and exhibition FREEDOM TRANSMISSIONS – Interventions on the protection and promotion of Artistic Freedom in Berlin on June 6th. It is part of the Long Night of Ideas 2019, initiated by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Finally, the ARTS RIGHTS JUSTICE book will be published at the end of 2019.
