“It is with great sadness that I inform the I's that Rastafari Elder, Ras Historian has passed forward. The Elder passed on Sunday, July 11.
Noted for his contributions to early Ras Tafari literature and writings, Ras Historian was also involved in the organizational work of mobilizing African people toward political and social upliftment. Ras historian founded the Rastafari Movement Association (RMA) which was a mighty force for change in the 60"s and 70"s. He was secretary of the United Vendors Association and an executive of the Rastafari Centralization Association.
Ras Historian was also the founder of the Rastafari International Theocrasy Assemble, which had an international Rastafari conference in the early eighties, which produced from the Conference 22 points for implementation, in order to strengthen the liberation structure of the Rastafari Movement. As a strong Garveyite, this Nyahbinghi Ancient has been a cornerstone of of Rastafari resourcefullness. The strength raised for Ras Historian will contribute towards the expenses related to his passing as well as strengthen his family in this time of need.”
